Print This Page Meeting Set to Decide Milkfish Volumes
PHILIPPINES - A meeting with the milkfish transshipment agents, fish cage and fishpond operators in Davao Region of the Philippines is expected this week to decide the volumes of milkfish fingerlings that will be needed.
The meeting has been set up by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) in Southern Mindanao.
And the BFAR regional director George Campeon told the Sun Star "We need to be assured that we can supply everybody. The meeting is in order for me to know the volume requirement of operators and agents in Samal, Tagabuli in Sta. Cruz, Malalag, Davao del Sur, and Panabo in Davao del Norte."
The Sun Star report says the region has enough supply of milkfish, with the maximum milkfish production of the region being two to three million tonnes every quarter.
