Print This Page Japan cancels Import Tariffs of 51 Indonesian Fish Products
JAPAN - Japan has cut import tariffs on 51 Indonesian fish products in the 3.5 to 10.5 per cent range to zero percent from 1 July according to the Indonesian Ministry of Marine and Fishery.
Head of Data and Information at the ministry Soen H Poernomo said that among the products were shrimps, prawns and pearl.
He said that the decrease was part of the Economic Partnership Agreement between Indonesia and Japan, in which both countries agreed to boost market access for Indonesian fish product to Japan.
Indonesia proposed to remove the import tariffs on 311 fish products, but only 51 of them were agreed, Poernomo said.
The tariffs on the remaining production will continue to be the subject of further negotiation.
