New Algal Technology Introduced

BELGIUM - Belgian aquaculture and algae company, SBAE Industries has launched a micro algal product for a stable green water environment for marine fish, shrimp and the production of rotifer.

The company says that the micro algae in the product, GreenStim creates a perfect environment for the production of rotifer with high nutritional value (fatty acids, proteins, sterols, etc.) and ensuring Vibrio spp. inhibition in the rotifer tanks. The company adds that the nutrients will not be lost while harvesting and feeding to the fish larvae.

The company adds that for marine fish GreenStim Green Water Environment results in higher survival, better and faster growth towards weaning stages as well as a reduced use of expensive live feeds, thanks to its higher nutritional value (fatty acids and vitamins).

The Green Water Environment also result in pathogen inhibition and in a natural shading effect, providing stress reduction.

SBAE Industries also says the product creates an environment for faster growth for shrimp larvae.

The company, founded two years ago, will be at Aquaculture Europe '08, Krakow, Poland (booth 10) and Future Fish Eurasia '08, Istanbul, Turkey (booth 104).
