Isidro Zayco had instructed him to include the restoration of the farms in the repair programme for the damage caused by typhoon Frank.
The restoration will affect farms in Bago City, E.B. Magalona, Silay City, Talisay City and Cadiz City according to a report in the Sun Star.
The P300 million fund will come from the Asia Fund that President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo had ordered to help with the relief effort for the fishing industry in Negros, especially in Cadiz.
The 'soft loans' to be handed out to the fishing industry are expected to be interest free.
The cash will not only go to providing fishing boats, destroyed in the typhoon , but also restoring the prawn farms and expanding tilapia farming in the region.
