2009: Viet Nam Targets USD 18 billion in Ag and Fish

VIET NAM - According to the development plan of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development submitted to the government at a meeting on Monday, the ministry sets a target of reaching USD 9.5 billion in exporting agricultural products in 2009.

Forest product exports is expected to grow up to USD 3.7 billion and seafood export revenue up to USD 4.8 billion, reports Vasep.

The Ministry reported that in the first eight months of the year, these main exported products brought USD 11.2 billion for the country, up 33% over the same period of last year.

The Ministry expects to get USD 16 billion from export for the whole year, increasing by 26%.
