Bank Opens to Accomodate Norweigen Seafood Sector

NORWAY - The establishment in Chile is part of the Group's international strategy to accompany customers abroad within DnB NOR's core competence areas.

In the case of Chile, these are primarily seafood, aquaculture and energy. Chile is the second largest salmon farming nation in the world and many Norwegian fish farming companies are established in the country.

"We have been very well received by the business community here. Companies within the seafood industry appreciate a bank that is experienced. As for the energy market, Chile has an enormous need for home-produced energy. They recognise the great potential in hydropower, which we are experienced in. It has been confirmed that we have the necessary competence in the industries we will be focusing on," says Trine Loe, head of the branch in Chile.

As a part of the above-mentioned event, DnB NOR hosted a seafood seminar to showcase the expertise available in the bank. In addition, leading figures from some of the most important seafood companies were invited to participate in a panel debate.
