European Union Mission To Check Pakistani Fish Exports
EU - A European Union (EU) mission is planning to visit Karachi Fish Harbour (KFH) to re-assess the production of fish and fishery product exports.
The EU mission will be in Karachi from 25 January to 2 February.
The evaluation will cover the entire fisheries products/production chain; vessels, landing sites, auctions, establishment, potable water/ice facilities, shrimp peeling facilities, and the surrounding environment.
Fakir Muhammad Jadam Mangrio, Advisor to the Chief Minister Sindh for Fisheries/Chairman of Karachi Fisheries Harbour Authority (KFHA), presiding a meeting at the KFHA, said that all concerted efforts should be made to maintain hygiene for the improvement of the Karachi Fish Harbour.
Subsequently, arrangements were made to discuss the context of the EU mission's visit in a meeting chaired by the Managing Director of KFHA, which was attended by representatives of the Seafood Exporters' Association (SFEA).
