Aquaculture Committees Get Ready in India

INDIA - The Indian government has set up state level and district level committees in all the coastal states to carry out the various activities passed in a recent act.

The act was proposed to make regulations for the construction and operation of aquaculture farms within the coastal areas.

According to The Times of India, it also requires authorities to inspect coastal aquaculture farms with a view to ascertaining their environmental impact caused by coastal aquaculture and to register coastal aquaculture farms.

The minister further informed Naik that Shrimp Farms in Goa are being registered by the Coastal Aquaculture Authority as per the recommendations.
