EUROTIER REPORT: Meeting Agricultural Challenges
The international exhibition has attracted 740 exhibitors from around the world wit the largest representation from the Netherlands.
There is also a strong exhibitor presence from France, Italy, Denmark, UK, Spain, Belgium, USA, Austria and China.
Altogether 42 per cent of the exhibitors come from outside Germany.
The exhibition organisers said they expect a strong contingent of visitors from Russia and the Central and Eastern European countries this week, as well as from the Middle East and China.
Catering for this diverse audience the exhibition is also holding an Eastern European Conference looking at the Russian and Ukraine markets and a Chinese European Pig Summit.
Away from animal husbandry, is the BioEnergy Europe exhibition which is celebrating its second appearance at EuroTier.
"Coming at a time when the sector faces unparalleled challenges in increased costs for feed and energy highlights the great importance of this DLG organised event," said Dr Karl Schlösser, project manager for EuroTier.
He said there was an upbeat mood in the industry which was searching for "solutions to optimise inputs and maximise returns".
