Bluefin Tuna: the Face of Australia?
According to Hughes Public Relations, Australian aquaculture company Clean Seas Tuna Ltd is rolling out a glamorous marketing campaign spearheaded by beautiful fish, aimed at making stars of premium Hiramasa Kingfish, Suzuki Mulloway and Maguro (Southern Bluefin) Tuna on the pages of fine restaurant menus and cookbooks around Australia and the world.
“There is no doubt Australia’s pristine waters produce some of the most beautiful fish in the world and these species are certainly considered to be premium across the globe,”Clean Seas Tuna chairman, Hagen Stehr AO, told the communications Counsel.
It’s a claim backed by the market. Premium Southern Bluefin Tuna farmed by Clean Seas near Port Lincoln, South Australia can command up to AUD$30,000 each in Japan, where they are highly valued for sashimi.
