Pakistan to Build Eleven Model Shrimp Farms
This was stated by the Federal Minister for Livestock and Dairy Development (MLDD) Humayun Aziz Kurd during the ground breaking ceremony of first model shrimp farm at Jiwani in Balochistan, reports ThePost.
According to the news agency he said that ministry would help poor fishermen in capacity development through provision of infrastructure at their work places.
The minister said the project has its emphasis on the coastal belt of Sindh and Balochistan to enhance fish production as well as to alleviate poverty of the farmers. The project will also cover the training aspect of fishermen and establishment of fish hatcheries in the area.
It will later on help in the trade development capacity of the local fisherman in the market for better rates of their catch, he added.
The Chief Minister of Balochistan formally inaugurated the ground breaking ceremony of the model shrimp form at Panwan Jiwani.
