Print This Page Rare Fish Found in Orissa
INDIA - A rare species of fish weighing about 97 kg has been found in river Kharasrota in Jajpur district of Orissa.
According to a report on Indopia it is the first time that such a big and rare fish has been found in the river.
The fish was caught in the nearby Kharasrota river, a branch of Brahmani, on Sunday and some villages gathering to see it started worshipping it as the mythological'matsya' avatar, the report says.
Later the fish was brought to Maa Kali fish market at Gandhi Chhak for sale and subsequently shifted to Kolkata market in West Bengal.
