Print This Page Carnival Promotes Eating Fish
MALAYSIA - To promote the eating of fish as a healthty food, the Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources is holding a four-day Fisheries Carnival at its Fish landing Complex in Muara.
It was officiated yesterday by MIPR Minister Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Utama Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Yahya Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Hj Bakar, reported the BorneoBulletin.
According to the news agency, acting Permanent Secretary Pg Hjh Mariana Pg Dipa Negara Laila Diraja Pg Hj Abd Momin also attended the opening ceremony.
The Fisheries Carnival aims to promote fisheries products and encourage the public to buy and consume local products, encourage fisheries activities and promote eco-tourism through sports fishing.
The carnival also raises awareness on the fisheries projects/programmes implemented and plans of the Department of Fisheries.
