NIGERIA - The Special Adviser to the Governor of Rivers State on Aquaculture and Deep Sea Fishing, Kurotamunoye Briggs has urged commercial fish farmers in the state to culture other delicious species like tilapia and mullet, which are popular and in high demand in the state.
Speaking while receiving officials of the field office of the Fisheries Department of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Briggs assured them of the state government’s readiness to ensure that they benefit from the Federal Government’s policy of reimbursement of 40 per cent on investments by commercial fish farmers, reports TheTideOnline.
Earlier, Mr. C.I. Jibueze of the Federal Department of Fisheries said that he had come to the office of the Special adviser, to intimate him of plans being made to organise a workshop on sea piracy and related activities militating against trawling and other fishing activities.
