Print This Page Bulgaria Risks Losing Fisheries Funds
BULGARIA - As The Trud daily reads today, not a single project has been approved under the Development of Fisheries and Aquaculture OP, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Supply informed yesterday.
Brussels has secured EUR 107 million for the sector, which have to be appropriated by 2013. Bulgaria is to lose over EUR 7 million for 2007 if they are not appropriated by the end of 2009 for, according to the rules, the money intended for one year can be spend in the two following.
According to a report from Information Agency, the risk to lose the first BGN 14 million is real because only projects under the Productive investments in aquacultures measure have been submitted so far and, one of them dropped out, none of the others were approved.
