Catfish Feed Deliveries

Foodsize catfish feed delivered totaled 18,927 tons, up 15 percent from the corresponding month a year ago. Feed delivered for fingerlings and broodfish totaled 927 tons, up 92 percent from the corresponding month a year ago.

March feed delivered to Alabama catfish growers for foodsize fish totaled 7,290 tons, up 40 percent from last year. Alabama accounted for 39 percent of the total foodsize catfish feed delivered to U.S. farmers.

The other major States with catfish feed deliveries for foodsize fish in March and their comparison to the previous year were Arkansas with 2,084 tons, up 60 percent; Louisiana with 518 tons, up 44 percent; and Mississippi with 6,336 tons, down 4 percent from last year.
