Pharmacologic Properties:

  • Sulfisozole is a antibacterial sulfa agent which has the following MIC values

  • Aeromonas hydrophila from eel: 3.1 – 12.5 mcg/mL, Aeromonas salmonicida from trout: 1.9 – 3.9 mcg/mL, Flexibacter columnaris from eel: o.4 mcg/mL, Pseudomonas anguilliseptica from eel :25.0 mcg/mL, Vibrio anguillarum from ayu : 3.1 mcg/mL, Vibrio piscium var. japonicus from trout : 12.5 mcg/mL, Flavobacterium psychrophilum from ayu : 0.78 – 6.25 mcg/mL, Nocardia serialae from yellowtail : 0.8 mcg/mL, Photobacterium damsela sp. piscicida from yellowtail: 6.3 – 25.0 mcg/mL

Target Species

  • Yellowtail, rainbow trout, carp and ayu

Dosage and Administration

Withdrawal time

  • Do not harvest the fish listed below before the time indicated:

  • Yellowtail and carp: 10 days after last medication

  • Rainbow trout and ayu : 15 days after last medication

  • Reduction in mortality caused by the following diseases:

  • Vibriosis, pseudotuberculosis and nocardiosis in yellowtail

  • Vibriosis and cold water disease in rainbow trout and ayu

  • Columnaris disease in carp
